Esalan Gates


Esalan is a final year English Literature student at Durham University and President of Durham University Classical Theatre. Her directing credits include Northanger Abbey, Regeneration, and Twelfth Night. She also took a devised show to Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 and wrote and directed The Lovers, performed for Durham Drama Festival 2021 and the Scottish Online Student Drama Festival 2021.

Elvira Parr


Elvira is a final year English Literature student at Durham University and President of Pitch Productions. Her producing credits include Sparks (intended for Ed Fringe 2020), Mrs Dalloway, Gutted and Mojo. She has worked at the Novello Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and as Marketing Assistant for The Assembly Rooms Theatre. She also has experience in venue management and online festival curation at the National Student Drama Festival 19/20.

Jenny Shpeter


Jenny is a final year Economics student at Durham University and President of Castle Theatre Company. Her previous roles include working as Line Producer and Production Coordinator on a variety of film sets, as well as being the Producer and Director of several theatre and radio productions as a member of Durham Student Theatre. Olivia Swain

Digital Producer

Olivia is Masters student at Durham University. As an undergraduate, she was President of Wrong Tree Theatre Company, co-founded Ultra Violet Theatre Company and took shows to the Edinburgh Fringe and National Student Drama Festivals. She has worked on shows in The Quarry Theatre and The Assembly Rooms Theatre and recently started Ikiru Production Company with another Durham alumni, which has already produced its first short film ready for the festival circuit.

Gabriella Sills
Assistant Director
Gabriella is a director, producer and choreographer who has worked with various theatre companies in venues such as the Gala Theatre, the Bacon Theatre, Leicester Curve Studios and the Edinburgh Fringe. She has worked as a Management Team Coordinator at the National Student Drama Festival and done work experience with ATG theatres (Piccadilly Theatre, London) and Theatre Royal Bath. She was Festival Director for Durham Drama Festival 2020, and President of Durham Student Theatre (20-21).

Claude Ando

Director of Photography and Videographer

Claude is a Durham based Photographer and Videographer and an aspiring creative generalist. He launched a photography and videography business as a freelancer whilst studying International Relations at Exeter University, and has since gained extensive experience as a creative director and director of photography. Ryan King

Video Editor

Ryan King is a final year Mathematics student and Co-President of Durham Student Film. His has written, directed and edited several short films whilst at Durham, most notably Opening Up, which is part of the official selection for Winchester Film Festival. He has also written and directed two plays for Durham Drama Festival 2020 and 2021 and has filmed and edited several Durham Student Theatre plays, advancing the society's adaptation to digital and virtual theatre during the pandemic.

Dragos Farcas

Technical Director and Audio Editor

Dragos is an experienced Technical Director, Video Editor and Sound Editor, having worked on many productions during his two years at Durham University.  He was Technical Manager of Green Door Theatre Company 2020-21, Technical Manager for the Durham Drama Festival 2021 and will be Technical Manager of Durham Student Theatre 2021-22. He is also a Member of Gravy for The Brain Voice Acting Training Course and the Technical Adviser for the newly founded Durham University Audio Drama Society.

Jonathan Yeap
Technical Assistant and Audio Editor

Jonathan is a first year Computer Science student at Durham University. His first role was as Technical and Music Director for Frankenstein, a radio play created by Castle Theatre Company and Green Door Theatre Company, for which he wrote several original pieces of music. He has a passion for many aspects of production, and has so far been involved in photography, videography, stage tech and editing on a number of stage and film projects in Durham.
